ES-KO proposes the Flatpack System (steel) for its ISO Standard 1161 modularity, suitable for international container transport and low cost erection.

It’s a technology recommended for the construction of transitional structures (in one or two floors), in a short period of time and in areas with difficult access: accommodation, office complexes, DFACs (dining facilities), recreation facilities, hospitals or clinics, commissaries, laundries, etc.

What is the Flatpack Technology?
It is a dry and modular prefabricated steel construction system. ES-KO’s Flatpack units are designed as a light construction system. Each Flatpack consisting of floor and roof frames with its related corner block profiles and x.14 insulated wall panels, all of the same dimension and interchangeable.

Main features
  • All units are manufactured in accordance to VDE 100 and EU regulations and are formaldehyde free
  • Floor base consists of cement board providing a loading capacity of 400kg/m²
  • Electrical components are manufactured in accordance with EU/USD/BS regulations, as per client needs
  • Easily transported as an ISO 20′ equivalent in bundles of four units or fully assembled

Case study

Accommodation facilities in mining camp (Barrick Gold, Zambia)

ES-KO Habitat Lda’s Shareholder, Container World South Africa, signed a contract with Barrick Gold for the design, supply, delivery, civil works and full erection of 2 accommodation camps, for a total 500 man capacity at Lumwana, Zambia, using Flatpack Technology. The project includes accommodation facilities for JNR and SNR management, laundries and ablution facilities, as well as fully equipped industrial kitchens and canteens, offices and boardrooms, containerized generating plants, water and sewage treatment plants.
